Friggen' Admirals Smoke Bombers Again

The Bombers are having a pretty good season so far-except for when they play the Admirals. The club has given the Bombers fits this season, beating them 6-2 in the first contest of the season and then 7-2 last night.

The Bombers started the game pretty stout defensively but made two major gaffes, one by Bill Auld who turned the puck over in the D-zone to allow a two on zero breakaway. Johnny Z, who rarely makes a mistake, honed in his inner "Pincher" a la SR, which allowed the Admirals to go in on a 3 on 1 odd man rush. Both mistakes resulted in goals and left the Bombers down 2-0. A strong second period saw no goals for the Bombers but no goals against until late in the period when the visitors scored 2 goals in 21 seconds.

With the score 4-0 going into the third period, the Bombers were forced to open up the play which resulted in two goals for but three goals against. A 7-2 score against a Admiral squad that seems to have the Bombers number.

On a positive note- the locker room was abuzz as Bomber veteran winger Tony D'anna was cleared for light skating and tested his injury by skating with the squad in pregame warmups. "It felt great actually. No issues right now. Just need to get in game shape." said D'anna. Although no date is set, the wheels are at least in motion for a return to the active lineup by D'anna.
