Hoyer' Introduces New Bomber Star

Jean Eric Hoyer' is proud to announce the birth of his daughter Ruby. Ruby was born on Saturday at 7lbs 8oz.  Mom and Ruby are doing great.  The Bomber hockey faithful anxiously await the day when Ruby will be able to center a line with her Dad and brother Zack.  Congratulations from the entire management, staff and players at the Bomber Hockey organization.  Well done Mr. Hoyer'!!  Well done!!

Matt Raulf Squared

The Bombers were excited to welcome original Bomber Matt Raulf back into the fold for the team's spring season at Aspen.  What was doubly exciting was that he didn't come alone.  He brought another player with him, one with a familiar name-Matt Raulf.  Matt Raulf, Jr and Matt Raulf III played on a line with another Bomber familiar with playing with his namesake-one Mike Gilbert, Jr.  This is all starting to sound confusing but was put into perspective by Raulf Jr when he said "I am glad for the opportunity to play with my son on the Bombers.  I remember Junior playing with Senior and Bill and Rober' and Paul with his son.  I really hoped I could do that someday."  Well you did Matt and the addition of "Trips" to the squad paid early dividends as Raulf III scored the only goal of the contest for the organization, giving his team the early 1-0 lead.  This reporter asked for a quote from the youngster but he still seemed to be working his way around the historical locker room.  Don't worry fans, his quotes will certainly come because there looks to be a bright future ahead in Bomber colors for the young man.

Bombers Prepare to Take Over Aspen

The Bombers scheduled two non-league games in preparation for their move to the friendly confines of Aspen Ice rink in Flemington, NJ.  In the two "friendlys" the Bombers dispatched of the Comeback Kids in a thriller that needed a shootout get to the eventual Bomber winning 7-6 score.  A hat trick and 4 points for Jean Eric Hoyer' and 2 goals and 3 assists for the captain helped secure the victory, but 1 goal in regulation and the shootout winner by John Zimnoch clinched it for the organization.  The Comeback Kids are one of the teams the Bombers will face in the Aspen Federal, so the competition level looks to make some exciting games.

The second of the the exhibitions was against another Federal league team the Shamrocks.  The Bombers represented themselves well with a 9-4 victory.  This time it was Zimnoch with the hattrick helped out by 2 goals each from newbies Drew Campbell and Craig Rossi.  Veteran blueliner Dave Smith notched his first goal in the new arena to much fanfare.

So the Bombers have built some confidence in the new arena at Aspen with the two victories.  They hope the mojo continues when the open the regular season on Sunday at 7:45 vs the Buzzards.  Plenty of good seats still available for what should feel like a matinee with the early start time.

Bombers Out-And not Just Playoffs

The Bombers were unceremoniously knocked out of the B3 playoffs, losing to the Puck Pimps by a 3-2 score on April Fools Day.  The Bombers held a 2-1 third period lead but a tenacious Pimp team tied it up with just under 9mins remaining in the third.

Then Bill took a stupid penalty-they scored-we lost.  Sorry boys!

The Bombers not only said goodbye to the playoffs, they said Hasta la vista to the playoffs old delapidated barn known as BSA.  The Bombers are taking their pucks and moving to the luxurios Aspen Ice Rink in Flemington, NJ.  There will be an adjustment period for the Bombers as they get used to flat ice that doesn't snow up after 5 minutes. Another tweak will be getting used to having all the lights at the rink.

The Bombers started their existance 20 yrs ago this November at BSA,  the facility that brought ice hockey to the county of Somerset in 1993.  But things soon fell apart at the friendly confines and the Bombers and many other clubs moved across the street to the Chimney Rock Ice Rink.  And of course eventually they moved to the lovely Rock Ice Rink in Dunellen (really Plainfield).  The Bombers lasted two games at the Rock before bailing for their new home of nearly 7 years the Twin Oaks Ice Rink.  Back to BSA for a championship in 09 and most of the remaining season until the playoff ouster the other night.   Know one knows exactly what Aspen will bring for the organization.  What we do know is the storied Bomber franchise is about the players that don the jersey and not the place they play.

Good luck in another chapter Bombers.  Viva
le Bombers (in my best Lupe' voice)!!!!!
