No Talent Ass Clown Won't Appeal Fine

Mike Gilbert, Jr was fined 7 new pucks and 6 Heinekens because he will miss tonight's game for "personal reasons." This reporter has discovered that Jr will actually be attending the Ranger game tonight (never a reason to miss anything even though they are playing the Devils).

Jr. did not even make Sr. available to fill in for him which further angered Bomber management. The two sides did meet earlier in the day today and the results were characterized as "positive". An unnamed member of Bomber management commented "Junior is a staple of this team and this was an internal issue that should have never gotten to the media. His fine is just part of team rules and he is aware of that. We will miss him on the ice but he had a previously scheduled appointment with his obstertrician later today for a nagging groin injury-so his status for today was already in doubt."

Jr stated that he will pay the fine at the Bombers next game.

Bombers Destroy Comeback Kids

Looking at these stat lines some might get confused-was this a hockey game or are those lines from the NFL conference championship games played earlier that day.

Jean Eric Hoyer' 9pts- 2g 7a
Bill Auld 8pts-2g 6a
Tony D'anna 6pts-3g 3a

The bomb exploded on the Comeback Kids with the home team putting up 10 goals on the scoreboard. The Bombers only had six skaters and John Zimnoch again played the entire game with no rest. Zimnoch would have probably had 10 tertiary assists but the Bombers were passing so well after the initial breakout pass that Zimnoch was amazingly kept off the scoresheet.

The extra energy might be attributed to the fact that many Bombers had circled Sunday's game with the Comeback Kids on the schedule. The first game, won by the Bombers 6-3 was filled with a lot of yapping that eventually got one of the Kids ejected for abuse of official. Rober' Auld who was last minute scratch due to a nagging muscle strain commented "The only way I can put it is they were very disrespectful last game-refs included. I was looking forward to this game."

Prelimary investigation of Bomber records indicate that the 9pts and 7 assists by Hoyer' are the most in each category in the modern era. This adds to the growing legacy for Hoyer' who has rapidly shot up the Bomber stat book. "He was a great find for the orginization. I'm glad he fell so far in the draft-nobody else seemed to like him at all. But we are fortunate-he's a great asset on the ice and in the room. He always has a pen." commented the Bomber GM. Loop Poltorak who claims that Jean Eric is only on the team because he can get the guys skates sharpened for them lamented "I had a 3 point night and still fell 6 points behind him in the team scoring race. I'm kidding of course-I'm happy for him-he's a swell guy and we won the game."

The Bombers now sit in 4th place with a 12-7 record, 1 pt behind the Whalers in third. Next up for the Bombers-a Jan 31st faceoff with the Smoke.

Whalers Halt Bomber Streak at Five

Mike Gilbert, Jr extended his personal goal scoring streak to 6 games but it wasn't enought to extend the Bombers win streak to the same number. The game was played much like a chess match on ice-cautious and calculated in its pace of play. The 3-2 defeat in front of unusually light crowd was the first defeat for the Bombers since way back on November 9th.

The organization has 2 weeks off prior to a meeting with the brash Comeback Kids on Jan 22nd.

Bochner Boys & TD's Return Spark Bombers to 5th Straight

The Vudoo team the Bombers faced on Wednesday night looked nothing like the team they had beaten 3 times earlier this season by a combined 27-6 score. No this team had essentially rebuilt itself and provided the Bombers with some stiff competition.

But the Bombers had a few new pieces themselves with Tony D'anna and the brothers Bochner- Mark and Dave returning from the injured reserve list. Mark Bochner's return was most impressive-scoring a hat trick to go along with one assist and the game's first star honors. Dave Bochner centered a high powered line of Bochner,Bochner, Hoyer' tallying an assist and helping his club to the 6-3 victory.

Tony D'anna also wowed the crowd with the spirted play and hard nosed skating that has been his hallmark in a Bomber uniform. Playing left wing with Bobby Calvano and Bill Auld on the old "Fun Line", D'anna netted one assist and the third star of the game in the Bombers 5th victory in a row. "I'll be sore tomorrow." noted D'anna after the game.

Loop Poltorak and Neil Van Der Horn showed their versatiltiy- both forced to drop back on defense due to the absence of 3 regular defensemen. "They did a great job shutting down their new guys." said Bomber D stalwart John Zimnoch.

A determined Whalers team are the next obstacle for the Bombers and their drive for 6 wins in a row in a showdown on Sunday.

Rober' Goes on IR as D'anna Comes Off

Rober' Auld, anxious to get back on the ice after missing 3 games since his hat trick on Dec 18, was informed by team doctors that his strained back muscle still has 2 more weeks of recovery. "I was not expecting that news. I'm discouraged." said Rober' at the team's facilities in Somerville, NJ.

"He was looking forward to a playing again with TD." said Bill Auld referring to Tony D'anna's return to the lineup for tonight's game vs the Vudoo. D'anna will be returning from an abdominal muscle strain that kept him out the entire Spring 11 season and all of this season to date.
