Bombers Destroy Comeback Kids

Looking at these stat lines some might get confused-was this a hockey game or are those lines from the NFL conference championship games played earlier that day.

Jean Eric Hoyer' 9pts- 2g 7a
Bill Auld 8pts-2g 6a
Tony D'anna 6pts-3g 3a

The bomb exploded on the Comeback Kids with the home team putting up 10 goals on the scoreboard. The Bombers only had six skaters and John Zimnoch again played the entire game with no rest. Zimnoch would have probably had 10 tertiary assists but the Bombers were passing so well after the initial breakout pass that Zimnoch was amazingly kept off the scoresheet.

The extra energy might be attributed to the fact that many Bombers had circled Sunday's game with the Comeback Kids on the schedule. The first game, won by the Bombers 6-3 was filled with a lot of yapping that eventually got one of the Kids ejected for abuse of official. Rober' Auld who was last minute scratch due to a nagging muscle strain commented "The only way I can put it is they were very disrespectful last game-refs included. I was looking forward to this game."

Prelimary investigation of Bomber records indicate that the 9pts and 7 assists by Hoyer' are the most in each category in the modern era. This adds to the growing legacy for Hoyer' who has rapidly shot up the Bomber stat book. "He was a great find for the orginization. I'm glad he fell so far in the draft-nobody else seemed to like him at all. But we are fortunate-he's a great asset on the ice and in the room. He always has a pen." commented the Bomber GM. Loop Poltorak who claims that Jean Eric is only on the team because he can get the guys skates sharpened for them lamented "I had a 3 point night and still fell 6 points behind him in the team scoring race. I'm kidding of course-I'm happy for him-he's a swell guy and we won the game."

The Bombers now sit in 4th place with a 12-7 record, 1 pt behind the Whalers in third. Next up for the Bombers-a Jan 31st faceoff with the Smoke.
