Bombers Survive a Wild Storm

The Bombers managed a 7-6 shootout victory on Oct 24th in a wild affair that saw the visiting Storm tie the game with 11 seconds left in regulation. "That one was on me." said goaltender Josh Burke who uncharacteristally took his eye off of the puck on a shot that game from behind the redline. Rober, acting as captain due to the absence of Bill Auld who was on a scouting assignment in upper Wisconsin, encouraged Burke to redeem himself in the shootout. "I told him -you are going to stop everything- and win the game for us!" And that is exactly what Burke did, denying all shooters.

The game also marked the return of fan favorite Neil Van der horn to the lineup. Neil made his presence known, scoring the goal of the evening-a laser-like top corner short side shot that was described by winger Jean Eric Hoyer' as "the fastest shot I've seen all season."

Hoyer himself scored 2 on the evening as did Loop Poltorak. Mike Gilbert, Jr and Van der horn's goal rounded out the scoring. Jean Eric and JZ scored in the shootout to give the Bombers their fourth win of the season.
