Rober's Hat Trick Propels Bombers Past Vudoo

After last night's pregame warmups, Bomber Center Rober' Auld was left wondering if the muscle strain he got in the Bomber's last game would loosen up enough for him to be able to play effectively. Rober', having 5 assists in the previous 2 games vs the Vudoo had circled this game on his calendar as one of potential opportunity. "I was worried at the start tho, the rink was cold and the muscle was tight. The first few shifts were not good." said Rober.

The Bombers as a whole looked a bit frozen in the early going- allowing the visitors to score the initial tally. But the United Nations line of Ulfie, Lupe & Jean Eric Hoyer' along with defenseman Dave Smith's early claim at the first star honors would have the Bombers up by a 4-1 score by the end of the period.

The line of Rober', Bill and Jr had not yet warmed up to the task and were each a minus 1 going into the second. "It looked like the scoring was going to be all from the other line." said a slightly frustrated Bill Auld. But that would change quickly as Rober' would score his first of the season-a one-timer off a sweet setup by JR. Another second period goal by Rober'- a wrist shot off the crossbar would bookend the two scored by his linemates giving them 4 in the period en route to a punishing 8-1 lead.

"Being up that big, the only thing left was to try to set up Rober' for the Hat trick." said Jr going into the third. Rober' had the hot hand and it didn't take long for him to net the trifecta. The very first shift provided the venerable sniper another high slot shot opportunity that ricocheted and found the back of the net.

"It was fun to have a night like that! My back actually hurts more now than it did but it was well worth it!!" said Rober' during the post game presser.

"He earned the first star." added Dave Smith who himself had a 3 point night with 1 g and 2a.

The dominating performance was the second in a row for the Bombers who are now 8-6 on the season heading into their matchup with the second place Puck Pimps on tuesday.
