Rosenberg v6.1 Explodes onto the Market

It was a night to remember for one Mike Rosenberg on Tuesday. The local media said it was amazing, statisticians say it was Bomber history. #3 netted a double hatrick, that's six goals, to go along with one assist in a Bomber effort that saw the good guys win 8-5 over Bridgewater locals, the Rink Rats. Jeff Bowser and Bill Auld's first period goals were a distant memory by the time Mike scored the last 6 goals and added to his already impressive Bomber resume.

"I haven't quite seen anything like that. The net must have looked as big as a house to him. I didn't even realize how many he had. They just kept going in." said Bomber center Rober' Auld.

Bomber history has seen a few 5 goal individual performances. Rosenberg himself, had done it in the Chimney Rock days. More recently there was Rich Moss in tournament play and Mark Bochner and Jimmy Lawson in league play. But never had anyone scored 6.

Rosenberg's six goals alone were enough to beat a suprisingly stick happy Rink Rat squad. Perhaps intimidated by the Bomber mystique, the Rink Rats were on the defense both on the ice and with their mouths. One particularly disturbed Rink Rat yapped all night that "this is not Morristown-this is Bridgewater." What he was driving at was a mystery. The Bomber squad was quite aware that they were not in Morristown- being they had intentionally left there for BSA. It meant something in his little head though and even with their guard and sticks up the Rats still found themselves down 6-2 going into the third period. Three third period Rink Rat goals showed the locals had something else to say but at no time did it feel the Bombers were not in contol of the game.

One point of concern on an otherwise impressive night for the Bombers was the lack of an effecitive penalty kill. The Bombers allowed three power play goals on 5 chances.

So the Bombers are now 3-0 in their new C-league confines. The much anticipated match against the Mighty Perch awaits on Monday.
