Bombers Silence the Storm

In what was supposed to be hard fought battle for first place turned into a rout as the Bombers easily defeated the Storm 5-1 on Monday. The Bombers scored first, allowed the Storm to tie the game before leaving the first period with a 3-1 lead. Stout goaltending and defense partnered with strong offensive salvos from the Time and Fun lines recategorized the Storm into a tropical depression.

"This is the best we have played in quite some time. This whole season really." noted Tony D'anna who had a goal and assist. Bill Auld and Eric Hoyer had 2 goals each to complete the evenings scoring. Gary Simpson was also impressive even without scoring as he was a backchecking machine-closing off more than a few Storm scoring opportunites.

Josh Burke kept his miniscule 1.00 GAA average intact with a strong "First Star" showing.
