8-7-6-5 SCORE!!!!!!

Michael Rosenberg the familiar #3 scored one of the more memorable goals of his career-a career that has seen him score many many goals-on Monday vs the Storm. Rosenberg got the Storm goalie George Plastoka, out of position scoring a goal on the short side with 5 seconds remaining in what was a 1-1 tie. "I had three shots on him late there. The last one had him stretching so far across the crease he couldn't get it. I'm glad to end a drought with a goal like that." said Rosenberg.

Hardly a drought, Mike hasn't been on the scoresheet only because he has been unavailable to play until late last season. If form holds true, and it looks like it has, Rosenberg will find himself lighting the lamp as he always has as the greatest Bombers goal scorer in franchise history.

The game was hard fought with neither team allowing too many odd man rushes. Bomber foward Rober' Auld may have had the best early Bomber chance when he juked the Storm defender to go in all alone after taking a chip pass from Tony D'anna. But Plastoka was equal to the task stopping the wrister to keep the Bombers off the board. The Storm's best chance of the evening came in the second period when their high flying defenseman Mike Delon found time and space and went in one on one with Bomber Dave Smith. But as quickly as the play started it was ended with a deft pokecheck by the reliable #22.

Neil Van der horn tallied 2 assists on the evening to go with a 2min slashing penalty and Eric Hoyer notched his first goal of the summer giving the Bombers an early lead.

Josh Burke stopped 16 of 17 shots to increase his season save percentage to an impressive .919.

Next up for the Bombers-one the Bombers have circled on their calendars-a rematch of the team the ousted them in the spring playoffs- the pesky Predators.

Game Notes:

Bomber foward Bill Auld noted "that game went fast-felt like only two periods." Could that be a result of his superb conditioning or his mental acuity?

With the win the Bombers are off to a 2-0 start. The last 2-0 start for the Bombers-the Summer 2009 Championship season.
