Perhaps the Devil made them do it!

Even though, as they say, it's susposed to be "all in good fun", apparantly "the devil is in the details."

The Ice Devils that is, who recently were given the dubious distiction from by Bomber fans everywhere as the team's most heated rival. They earn that distinction with 64% of the vote. The Lightning, a Bomber rival from the early Chimney Rock days, came in a distant second with 21% of the votes.

Usually a rivalry is derived from two equally matched teams trading victiories. But the Ice Devil rivalry defies that tradition. Belezebub's skating minion of doom has not surrendered even a tie in their 14 career contests and many in the sporting world feel that the Ice Devils have been poaching the C-league market for victories for years. It is clearly this point that stirs the animosity of Bomber faithful. And they way the go about it doesn't help either. One reporter stated "The Ice Devils have as much subtlety as a wrecking ball crashing a china convention."

In their defense The Ice Devils are probably a team without a league suitable to their style. They are a formidable oppenent with high skill players, stong goaltending and well executed team game philosophy. Already kicked out of the Twin Oaks league once before their recent return, the team needs to find a league that better suits their game-a checking league for instance. The Ice Devils have been striving for the recognition that the Bombers have always been accustomed to and joining a more suitable division may be their first step.

In what may be a narrowing of the rift between the clubs, the Ice Devils have made accomodations recently- agreeing not to schedule games with the Bombers this season.

But for whatever reason the Ice Devils are still the yang to the Bombers ying.
