Mike Gilbert, Jr was fined 7 new pucks and 6 Heinekens because he will miss tonight's game for "personal reasons." This reporter has discovered that Jr will actually be attending the Ranger game tonight (never a reason to miss anything even though they are playing the Devils).
Jr. did not even make Sr. available to fill in for him which further angered Bomber management. The two sides did meet earlier in the day today and the results were characterized as "positive". An unnamed member of Bomber management commented "Junior is a staple of this team and this was an internal issue that should have never gotten to the media. His fine is just part of team rules and he is aware of that. We will miss him on the ice but he had a previously scheduled appointment with his obstertrician later today for a nagging groin injury-so his status for today was already in doubt."
Jr stated that he will pay the fine at the Bombers next game.
