The Bombers lost 5-3 to the Predators on Monday, ending the team's winning streak at six games. "We were a bit undermanned tonight-that's not an excuse-just a reason." said one of the Bomber assistant coaches. The Bombers, forced to play with six skaters, jumped out to an early lead-scoring on the first shift. At the end of one period it was a 3-0 lead for the Bombers.
But the Preds patiently chipped away at the fatigued Bomber squad and eventually went up 4-3 with just minutes remaining. With Josh Burke pulled from the net the Bombers nearly scored the equalizer but the Jean Eric Hoyer wrister rang harmlessly off the post. "I barely got to it and I knew as it left my stick it might not make it." An empty net goal made the final score 5-3 giving the Bombers their first loss against 6 wins on the season.
So the streak is over but the calvalry is on the way as many Bombers are poised to make their return to the lineup.
Next up- the Smoke on Thursday November 4th at 9:30pm.
