Bombers Win Both Ends of Home & Home

The Bombers exploded for 13 goals in two consecutive victories agains the perenially tough Whalers.  The first game was a dominant performance on both ends of the ice leading to a 6-2 victory.  Dan Scerra, a emergency call up from the Vudoo of the BSA C League put his name in the Bomber archives in dramatic fashion-netting a hat trick in the contest.  "Vu-who?" was all that Dan could muster as a quote-the excitement of not only playing for the storied franchise but getting 3 goals as well overcame the youngster.  Bill Auld added 2 goals and Dave Bochner rounded out the scoring.

The second game of the back to backs was played a week later was dominated by the outstanding goaltending of Josh Burke.  The Whale who could not keep the Bombers off the scoreboard in the 7-1 loss were actually up to the task in the offensive zone but Burke stood on his head frustrating the skilled Whaler forwards.  "It was getting to the point where we were just shaking our heads in disbelief." said Whaler forward Soup Campbell.  "That game could have actually been a close one if not for Josh.  Best game I've seen him play." said Bomber vet Mike Gilbert, Jr.

A highight of the evening for the Bomber faithful was an unexpected visit by Mike Gilbert, Sr who made himself available for his legions of fans.  "It's always great to see a Bomber legend make time to give back to the fans and the Bomber players.  The organization owes a lot to Senior." noted the Bomber GM.

Bombers Again Lost Vs Admirals

When the Bombers play the Admirals they have trouble and it matters not if the Admirals are in last place or first.  Tuesday's game was no different as the Admirals skated to an easy 6-3 victory and their first win of the season.  "It's crazy how much trouble they give us.  They have good players but so do we, and we are never in the game against them." noted Bomber goaltender Josh Burke.

The Bombers season ended last year in a game vs the Admirals and although no one in the organization would admit to it they would surely like to avoid them this season's playoff run.  But there is still plenty of hockey left before thats decided.  Next up for the Bombers, a home and home vs the Whalers.

Blue Jerseys Yield 3rd Straight Win

The Bomber blues-jerseys that is-brought the storied franchise to their 3rd straight victory and a 3-2 win loss record.  The Bombers surged to a 6-3 victory over the Storm off 2 goals each from Bill Auld and Mike Gilbert, Jr.  Mark Bochner snared his first of the season and the mighty Jean Eric Hoyer rounded out the scoring.

The idea to change to the blue jerseys was suggested by Bomber Dman Dave Smith in order to shake things up after losing the first two contests of the season to the Smoke by a combined 13-2 score.  This game howerver was never in doubt for the Bombers as things seemed to be settling in for the group.

Conspicously absent were the dynamic duo of Mike Rosenberg and Gary Simpson who again must have similiar injuries that are keeping them out of the lineup.  The Bombers will need the pair if they have any hopes of making it far in the Spring 2012 season.

The Boys are Back in Town

Simpson to Rosenberg and Bochner to Bochner.  These were once very familiar calls Bomber play by play men.  And now, to the delight of Bomber fans these recognizable combinations are back for the Spring 2012 season.  "The locker room is alive with their presence.  All four of them are a big addition to our squad and the boys are happy to playing alongside each other once again." said Bomber capt Bill Auld.

The excitement of the reunion was not affected by the 2 losses to the Smoke in the season's first 2 games by 9-1 and 4-1 scores.  "We didn't get much going, but I think we were just getting used to having more than 8 guys in game lineup." commented Neil Van Der Horn.  It didn't matter though, the team was more into the camaraderie than the score. There will be time for focusing on the standings.  Right now the squad should be allowed to revel in the excitement that is  . . . Bomber Hockey!
